Starship Nearly Assembled

Elon Musk's Starship is nearly assembled and will be taking humans to the moon and mars soon.

Congratulations Elon. I am your biggest fan.

Humans will not survive as a species unless we develop an interplanetary presence. In fact, we will probably have to colonize several neighboring stars if we want to protect ourselves from being wiped out by a supernova explosion. It is vital that we stop fighting over fuel resources and get to the business of our common salvation.

Internalized Racism By White "Liberals" in America

Recently, through social media, I have noticed a new phenomenon. My mostly white, middle to upper class, "liberal" friends are posting racist, anti-white rhetoric in their social media feeds. It bears mentioning that these are mostly white people who live in a culture of privilege and gentrification.

Here are some examples:

Fascinated by this behavior by my peers, I decided to do a little research.

When a person feels prejudice towards their own race it is called "internalized racism". If we Google this term, all we find is references to it as it would apply to minorities. When I specifically search for "internalized racism by white people" I still only get articles referencing internalized racism in minorities:
The Wikipedia article in the link above implies that the term "internalized racism" only applies to minorities, as if whites are incapable of, or excluded from the privilege of using the term as it would apply to those of a paler skin-tone. It is difficult to find any references on the internet to internalized racism by white people, so I assume this is a fairly new behavior, which has developed during the Trump presidency, and is exclusive to white "liberals". I did find one scholarly article on internalized racism by Keshia Unika Williams, which seems to acknowledge that white people are capable of internalized racism, but said "The examination of the experience of internalized racism by white people is beyond the scope of this paper." https://scholarworks.smith.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=2379&context=theses

Nearly all humans are guilty of subconscious racism, born out of social and cultural programming and segregation. The failure of white "liberals" to recognize their own internalized racism is, by itself at least, a subconscious form of racism.

I write "liberal" with quotation marks because most of my friends who claim to be liberal have adopted some political stances which are in no way liberal in my estimation. An example of this would be the willingness to erode the Second Amendment to the Constitution, which protects the right of the individual to keep and bear arms. Today's "liberal" pretends to be alarmed by our rapid progression toward a police-state, while blindly supporting campaigns to increase government control over citizens and erode our civil liberties as enumerated in the Bill of Rights.

My "liberal" friends who self-righteously support democrat candidates over republicans appear ignorant to the fact that democrats have gone right along with republicans on some of the most critical issues which have impacted us all in very negative ways. The war on drugs comes to mind, along with a nearly endless list of other wars. Democrats have gone along with republicans in the destruction of our environment and waging war in the name of profit; they have participated in environmentally catastrophic global warfare and imperialist military expansion. Democrats have done nothing to prevent the ever expanding private-prison industry and the mass incarceration of people for victimless "crimes". Democrats went right along with the destabilization of peaceful countries and the installation of puppet dictators who wouldn't oppose  plans of robbing those countries of their resources. Democrats took part in the rip-off of Americans by the medical, insurance, and drug industries; the poisoning of the planet by mineral and oil companies; and the destruction of our forests for agriculture and livestock farming. If the above is liberal behavior, I would prefer to call myself a radical. It appears to me that today's "liberal" democrats differ from their republican counterparts in word only: their actions do not comport with the narrative they espouse. In many ways the two parties have flipped in their ideologies: it used to be the republicans who promoted hatred of Russia; now it is the Democrats who are trying to re-ignite the cold-war. My "liberal" friends constantly spew forth hatred and vitriol in their social media feeds without regard to the truth of the propaganda they are helping to spread.

And yes, from the abundance of self denigrating posts on social media it appears that "liberals" are capable of racism as well as hypocrisy. Join me in my support of any political candidate who refuses to affiliate themselves with the democrat or republican conventions.

The Devil's Advocate strongly approves of US Rep. Steve Cohen (D). It is refreshing to see and hear a politician speaking the truth about the destruction of lives caused by the drug war. We applaud you Mr. Cohen! Keep speaking the truth, we are listening.

DONALD TRUMP MEMES COLLECTION

There are perhaps hundreds of thousands of political memes devoted to Donald Trump. Most of them are anti-Trump memes, but there are also a lot of pro-Trump memes. I seriously doubt there is any way to see all of them but I thought it would be fun to make an attempt at compiling them. Don't forget to check back from time to time to see the latest additions to the collection.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Says He Was Dancing at a Benefit for Syrian Refugee Children When Journalist Disappeared

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman says he was dancing at a benefit for Syrian refugee children when Saudi journalist, Jamal Khashoggi, disappeared, and released a photograph that he claims proves it. The Prince laughed when skeptics pointed out that the image looked doctored--"Haters are always going to hate." he said. When asked what he thought about the photo, President Trump looked pleased--"I knew it!" he said, "Nobody who spends billions and billions of dollars on weapons is going to go and kill someone. This guy is a really fine human being and you can see he really cares about the kids."

California State Rep. Brad Sherman Has Egg on his Face

Rep. Brad Sherman (D) CA
California State  Rep. Brad Sherman (D) has proposed a ban on cryptocurrencies at a House Financial Services Meeting on February 13, 2018:

"We should prohibit U.S. persons from buying or mining cryptocurrencies," he said. "Mining alone uses electricity which takes away from other needs and-or adds to the carbon footprint. As a store, as a medium of exchange, cryptocurrency accomplishes nothing except facilitating narcotics trafficking, terrorism, and tax evasion."

But, it appears that Mr. Sherman may have other than altruistic reasons for his opposition to the application of block-chain technology to decentralized types of currency: A quick search of Representative Sherman, shows that his biggest campaign contributors for 2017-2018 are Capital Group CompaniesRoyal Business Bank, and Allied Wallet: all of which are providers of  international banking, investment, and credit card services.

Although Democrats often point fingers at Republicans when it comes to favoring big money and corporate donors, it appears that they themselves are not above the practice. Is it possible Mr. Sherman is working on behalf of his donors who are threatened by the very existence of cryptocurrencies? Representative Sherman, you appear to have egg on your face.
