It imperative that we develop alternative renewable resources in order to reduce global warming, which all of the world's most respected scientists agree is both real and dangerous to our collective existence. The worlds oil reserves are finite and rapidly being depleted. It is my opinion that in another 50 years, oil will be such a precious resource that only the military will have and use gasoline in this country. Those untapped oil reserves could be indispensable to future generations who will be faced with challenges that we may not be able to predict, not to mention the possibility of any number of predictable global catastrophies that may occur. I submit that we need to conserve every possible drop of oil for possible emergencies, and develop clean alternative energy sources now.

Certainly we must stop off shore drilling and develop alternate energy sources
But there's so much hype about all this. For example, we're told to buy hybrid electric cars at the same time we're told to conserve electricity. And the government is in no way conserving electricity in all the buildings and city lights so bright no stars are visible.
