It seems simple to me...just shut down those offices, elected and appointed, that are responsible for making the decisions which have  led us to this!

US MILITARY ALLOWS WOMEN INTO COMBAT

Reversing its long-standing policy excluding women from combat roles in the military, the Pentagon has announced that women will now be allowed to fight along-side men on the battlefield. The Devil's Advocate strongly supports this leap forward in the battle for human rights. Since women in our government participate in the decisions that lead us to war, they should also be allowed to kill people and get shot at if that is their desire.

In an interview with Staff Seargent, Lily White, a female combatant in the eternal war against America's enemies, Seargent White said, "Hell Yeah! We have fought for this for a long time! A woman is just as capable as any man of killing America's enemies in whatever god-d*mnd country we want! This is gonna send a real message to those Al-Quada M*thrfr's! America means freedom for everyone and if they don't wanna be free, we will put them in a world of Sh*t!"

There has been some conjecture that the Pentagon, in anticipation of an all-out war with Syria, Iran, China, Afghanistan, North Korea, Russia, and an escalated presence in various smaller countries where its influence has been waning, may simply be looking for a greater recruitment pool to make up for its recent declines in willing new soldiers: Kind of like when they decided to allow gays and lesbians to serve. When asked to confirm or deny these rumors, a high-ranking official at the Pentagon who asked that his identity remain anonymous said, "Absolutely not. We are preparing for when we can go into space. Tomorrows soldier may actually have to travel light-years across our galaxy in order to defend America. This kind of deployment can take generations! We are going to need young men and women who are capable of reproducing and training in space. Those egg-s*ckin Martians are going to have to get up pretty early in the morning if they want to catch us with our pants down!"

US DEBT REACHES $14 TRILLION

It was announced on the news this morning that the United States Government's debt has surpassed its own self imposed limit of fourteen trillion dollars--that is a 14 followed by twelve zeros($14,000,000,000,000). Congress will now consider a measure to increase the Federal debt limit. One has to wonder just how much debt the government is willing to impose on its citizens. Spending on military invasions and gifts to the corporate profiteers who have already ripped off the American people for every penny they have, has finally bankrupted our government. There is one possibly positive aspect to this conundrum: Maybe now these fools will stop their indiscriminate spending and go home to their families (Yeah, right!). I'm not going to hold my breath for that one.

The other big story in the news today was about a man who consumed his twenty-five thousandth (25,000th) Big-Mac: He actually saved his receipts and hamburger boxes in his basement. Also, Arnold Schwarzenegger admitted to fathering a child with one of his household staffers.

Meanwhile, earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, floods and other disasters are increasing in frequency and ferocity due to a global failure to manage our resources and waste. Oil spills, nuclear meltdowns, war and other ecological disasters continue to ravage our planet; unemployment has left thousands of young men and women with nothing to do. But instead of rioting in the streets, Americans are more concerned with such superficial events as the recent "Royal Wedding" and the private life of Charlie Sheen. We may be facing the end of civilization as we know it and all we see in the news is superficial crap! If this was France or Algeria, people would be rioting in the streets, but perhaps due to an abundance of anti-depressants Americans don't seem to care what is going on--as long as we have our Big Macs and can watch celebrity news on television we pay no attention to the fact that most of us may be dead within the next ten years. Wake up America! The world ends tomorrow and you may die!

U.S. Media war-coverage is fairly ambiguous and sterile, since it is subject to heavy censorship and influenced by the big corporations upon which it depends for advertising dollars.

Obama Opens Offshore Oil-Drilling

It is my prediction that 25 years from now only the military and the very rich will possess and use gasoline.

I guess it is fitting then, that President Obama should announce the resolution to open offshore oil drilling at Andrews Naval Air Base in Washington. Since it will take about ten years to get the proposed platforms operational, this move will not significantly effect gas prices for US consumers. In my opinion it is more of a gift to the Pentagon from a President who wants to improve his popularity with military personnel.

Once again we see that there is little difference between Democrats and Republicans. Both parties have been ripping off the American People and the rest of the world for generations. The impending energy crisis is nothing new. Liberals saw this coming back in the seventies, and conservatives tried to ignore their warnings like ostriches with their heads stuck in the sand.

It is high time we stop pretending our problems will just go away if we ignore them. From the condition of things here on Earth, it is clear that things have been managed poorly. Let us stop wasting our precious irreplaceable resources,and killing ourselves in the process. We must start cleaning up our mess now. It may already be too late!

Obama On Military Spending

There is not enough difference between the Democrats and Republicans. Because I live in very blue voting district for the first time in my life I had the luxury of "voting my conscience," instead of voting for "the lesser of two evils." I voted for the Green Party candidate, not because I thought she would make a great president, but because I really agree with the Green Party agenda and I wanted to send a message to the Democrats. I agree that Obama was a better choice than McCain, but only by a small margin. Both the Democrats and Republicans have been ripping off the taxpayers since way before I was born. The thing that worried me about Obama right from the beginning was his warlike and hawkish attitudes. We need to stop giving money to the military and Obama never talked about that.

This is some pretty gripping war footage. I don't understand why we send our soldiers halfway across the planet to blow stuff up. Why can't they build rails, wind turbines, hospitals, schools, and other positive stuff that we need at home now?

Mitt Romney Speaks Out Against Obama

Mitt Romney harshly criticized President Obama's actions since he has taken office in a speech today on C-SPAN .

I'm getting tired of hearing Republicans complain about all of the things the President is doing to reverse the damage of eight years of Republican failure. While Bush was in office, he had the luxury of a Republican congress that gave him anything he asked for. Without any Democratic restraint he managed to spend every dime of the huge surplus that was left in the treasury when Clinton left office and put the country deeply into debt with the rest of world.

The answer to the country's financial problems is really simple: Stop spending $3 Billion per month blowing stuff up half-way around the world! Over three-quarters of our national budget goes to the military! This money should be spent at home, building schools, bridges, and hospitals; it should be spent on building housing and giving food to our poor; we should be investing in a space program! Instead, Mr. Romney speaks about building up our military even more! He wants to pump up our troop levels!

Listen, the Republicans had their chance and clearly failed miserably with their warlike policies. The result of their failure has been pain and suffering all over the world, including here at home.

The next time you hear some near-sighted republican complaining about Obama, do me and the rest of the world a favor and remind them that it was their policies which got us into this mess in the first place!
By now it is clear that republicans only care about their stock funds and protecting their wealth. They make their money from the blood and sweat of the poor and human suffering appears to mean nothing to them.

Assemblywoman Fiona Ma Hopes She "Won't See War In Her Lifetime..."

Assemblywoman, Fiona Ma, Representing California's 12th Assembly District was in attendance at the installation of a Veteran's flag pole in front of City Hall today. There was much beating of war drums and general military pomp. I was dumbfounded when, while being interviewed on live television, Assemblywoman Ma said, "I hope that we won't see war in my lifetime...[but I feel it is likely that I will]."

I would like to be the first to point out to the Assemblywoman that we are at war right now and have been in a constant state of war ever since the beginning of the Korean Conflict. I am shocked that an elected official of her stature would make such an outrageous and simple-minded statement. Please, do the world a favor and send the Assemblywoman an email, informing her that we are currently at war and have been for many years. SUPPORT OUR TROOPS

"Support Our Troops." Used early in the invasion and occupation of Iraq as a counter to the growing anti-war movement, this patriotic slogan has since undergone a metamorphosis. As the scores of injured and mentally disturbed soldiers return from the battle fields to their home-towns and try to re-integrate into society, their friends and families are learning that no amount of support can ever heal the psychological wounds that soldiers suffer.

Although I have respect for people who put themselves in harm’s way to protect others, I believe heroism should be associated with a just cause. The illegal invasion and occupation of Iraq has caused such widespread destruction that any glory claimed from taking part in cleaning up the mess, should be carefully examined. Don't tell me they are fighting for my freedom, because in my opinion that is pure garbage! The war was sold to the American people with lies and propaganda. Even among the right-wing there are few who will now deny that the invasions and occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan have had much more to with energy resources and geopolitical strategic posturing than anything else.

There is no justification for the illegal, immoral invasion and occupation of a peaceful country.

State Of The Union Address

During the President's speech tonight I noticed something that surprised me. Although, I always thought that illegal immigration was one of the right-wing's favorite personal peeve's, when the President talked about reforming our county's immigration policy, very few of the Republican attendees stood up to applaude; conversely, nearly all of the Democrat attendees were on their feet clapping immediately. The Republican side of the gallery only grudgingly stood up when the President spoke of ending the war in Iraq: why do Republican's love war so much?

Although it has long been my position that both parties have been ripping off the American public for generations, it has been demonstrated that the Democrat's policies lead to a healthier economy and a freer society. It is clear that the right-wing's bottom line is always profits; they appear to be against anything that might threaten corporate profits.

The President's speech was strong and well delivered; he made a lot of sense. By contrast the Republican rebuttal was weak: The Republican's complain a lot about the President's ideas, but they always seem to forget that it was their irresponsible fiscal policies that led to the economic disaster the world is now facing.

Let Us Remember The Heroes

Do you recognize this man? Most will say he looks vaguely familiar, and he should...in my opinion, this is the greatest hero of the war in Iraq. This man had the courage and the fortitude to stand up and say what he believed in, in spite of the swift and brutal retaliation that he knew he would receive for doing so. This is the famous Shoe Throwing Reporter, Muntadhar al-Zeidi. He had the nerve to throw both of his shoes at Former President Bush in a show of disgust for the lies and propaganda spread by the Bush administration. He endured nine months of torture in an Iraqi prison for his act of defiance, and was released last September.

After his release, al-Zeidi said that he believes US forces "...will spare no efforts to track me as an insurgent revolutionary in a bid to kill me..." He has since gone into hiding with his family.

Number of "Unemployed" Americans Much Higher Than Reported

I didn't think of this until I saw this funny little movie, but there are a lot more people out of work than the news agencies are leading us to believe...now I don't feel quite so bad.



Call your representatives now and tell them to stop giving money to the military. We need road maintenance, bridges, schools, hospitals, housing, and food, not bombs to blow up schools and hospitals in other countries. Thank you!

Mao Dollar

In order to pay for Bush and Cheney's illegal and immoral war, the United States borrowed trillions of dollars from the industrialized nations of the world (most notably, China). In essence, China (and the other industrialized nations) now own most of the United States' assets.

Thanks to neo-conservative policies the world's economy is in ruins; the reputation of the US has been seriously damaged all over the world (especially in Muslim nations); millions of US citizens are out of work; millions of innocent people are dead and things may still get worse before they get better. Now conservatives are complaining that President Obama hasn't "fixed the economy" yet!

I hate to say it, but it will take more than six-months to fix the mess the conservatives have created since Bush took office nearly nine years ago. To those critics of Obama, I say this: You had your chance and you were wrong. Now shut the hell up, while we try to clean up your mess.
